I’m not thrilled about having to admit this.  After going through several sources and then confirming with a historian, however, I have no choice but to reluctantly acknowledge —in this particular instance— Sarah Palin knew what she was talking about.

 The International Business Times  addressed the historical veracity of Palin’s story more rigorously than the US big city dailies did — as does the Politiku below.
